It is with great sadness Local Lodge 905 announces the passing of Brother Donald M Beadle after a courageous battle with cancer, with his family at his side, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on Thursday, January 17, 2019. Don of Peterborough, formerly of Moose Jaw, SK and Fort Frances, ON, at 61 years of age.
Brother Don has been instrumental in organizing Nefab employees under the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW) flag and provided a valuable service to the members as a Chiefsteward at the NeFab Peterborough plant.
Beloved husband and childhood sweetheart of Carla (Plumridge) for 43 years. Dear father of Don (Heather), Mike (Jen) and John (Amber). Loving Grandpa of Allison, Caitlyn, Brenna, Cody, Bailey, Kelis, Iliana and Jaxson. Brother of Norval and the late Glenda McMahon (late Ralph) and Ron (surviving wife Gwen). He will be remembered by many other relatives and friends.
Don was a long time employee of Nefab and had a prior career as a plumber. He loved hockey (Go Habs!), fishing, boating, playing baseball and doing all those things with his grandchildren. Don was very handy, enjoying fixing things around the house and tinkering with cars.
A Memorial Reception will be held at the Ashburnham Funeral Home (840 Armour Road) on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 2:30 – 4:30 pm with words of remembrance at 4:00 pm.
