Ottawa, ON – IAM Canada is pleased to announce the ratification of a new 3-year collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with Innotech Aviation at Ottawa International Airport (YOW). The agreement received 100% support from 100% of the membership.
IAM members at this location operate the Shell Aerocentre, managed by Innotech Aviation. These members serve as Line Service Representatives (LSRs) and Customer Service Representatives (CSRs). The LSRs handle the shell fuel trucks and other ramp-side equipment, servicing Innotech’s customers, while the CSRs manage the front desk, playing a crucial role in operations.
Key Achievements of the New CBA:
Wage Increases:
LSRs: Immediate wage increases of between $3.95/hr and $4.92/hr, approximately a 25% increase. Over the 3-year CBA, these increases will range from $6.04/hr to $7.21/hr, equating to a 39% total increase for some members.
CSRs: Immediate wage increases of between $3.45/hr and $3.68/hr, approximately a 20% increase. Over the 3-year CBA, these increases will range from $4.68/hr to $5.70/hr, equating to a 33% total increase for some members.
These significant wage increases are retroactive to April 1st or the end date of the previous CBA.
Additional Benefits:
Statutory Holiday: Members will now receive Family Day, in addition to the existing 10 statutory holidays.
Paid Medical Leave Days/Sick Days: Members will start each April 1st with 7 paid days and can earn up to 3 additional days later in the year.
DZ License Physicals/Medicals: The company will now cover the costs of initial and recurrent physicals required to obtain and maintain a DZ License.
“This 3-year CBA ensures IAM members receive living wages, which is crucial in today’s expensive world. It also sets a higher industry standard for wages, benefiting workers across the sector. It’s wonderful to see IAM members gaining an extra $10,000 a year in their pockets,” said Corrado. “I would like to thank our IAM Chief Steward Michael Strickland for his hard work and impactful efforts in securing this agreement.”
